Welding method of hand held laser welder
1、 Resistance welding
It is used to weld thin metal parts, clamp the surface touched by the welding parts through the large current between the two electrodes, that is, to weld through the workpiece resistance heating. The workpiece is easy to deform. Resistance welding is carried out through both ends of the joint, while laser welding is only carried out from one side. The electrode used in resistance welding needs to be maintained regularly to eliminate the oxide and the metal adhered to the workpiece. When laser welding thin metal lap joint, it does not touch the workpiece. Moreover, the beam can enter the area that is difficult to be welded by conventional welding, and the welding speed is fast.
2、 Argon arc welding
The use of non consumable electrode and maintenance gas is often used to weld thin workpieces, but the welding speed is slow, and the heat input is much larger than that of laser welding, which is prone to deformation.
3、 Plasma arc welding
It is similar to argon arc welding, but its torch will produce compressed arc to improve arc temperature and energy density. It is faster and deeper than argon arc welding, but inferior to laser welding.
4、 Electron beam welding
It relies on a beam of accelerated high-energy density electron stream to impact the workpiece, which generates huge heat in a small dense area on the surface of the workpiece, forming a "keyhole" effect, and then deep penetration welding is carried out. The main defect of electron beam welding is that it needs high vacuum environment to avoid electron scattering, the equipment is complex, the size and shape of the weldment are constrained by the vacuum chamber, and the assembly quality of the weldment is strict. Non vacuum electron beam welding can also be implemented, but the effect is affected by the poor focusing due to electron scattering. Electron beam welding also has the problems of magnetic deviation and X-ray. Because the electron is charged, it will be affected by the magnetic field deflection, so it is required to demagnetize the workpiece before welding. X-rays are very strong under high pressure, so it is necessary to maintain the operators. Laser welding does not need vacuum chamber and demagnetization treatment before welding, it can be carried out in the atmosphere, and there is no anti X-ray problem, so it can be operated online in the production line, and it can also weld magnetic materials.
